Lyda Liu

Lyda received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994.  Over the past 10 years she has worked with a diverse patient population, including newborns, adult athletes, and the elderly.  Although she has spent much of her career specializing in pediatric development, sports and fitness have always played a strong role in her professional and personal life.  As a competitive high school and college athlete, a competitor in 13 marathons including the Boston marathon, and as a high school cross country and track coach, Lyda understands well the value of strength training and conditioning.  After having her son, she quickly realized that her daily gym activities were extremely difficult to fit in.  She also found that this was a time in her life when exercise became imperative to her physical and emotional well being.   She found that by exercising with her son, she could modify her regular strength program to fit her postnatal needs. And, at the same time, she could work on promoting her son’s developmental skills… and her son loved it!  Lyda was born and raised in Hawaii. She currently makes her home on the island of Hawaii where she lives with her husband and son, Kamaha’o.

Lindy Shapiro

After achieving her Masters degree in speech-language pathology from Northwestern University in Chicago, Lindy's love for the ocean drew her to Maui, Hawaii where she currently lives with her husband and her new baby boy, Quinn.  Lindy grew up with a wide range of sports interests and has focused on endurance running competitions over the past 6 years.  Maui has given her the opportunity to add surfing, windsurfing, and scuba diving to her list of favorites.  Becoming a mom has proved to be the start of the most amazing adventure of Lindy's life.  As a new mom, she draws constantly on her experiences in pediatric speech therapy while she helps her son grow and is excited to share those strategies with other moms.  Creating a way to incorporate her love for Quinn and her need to stay physically active and healthy has transformed her experience as a mom and allows her to start each day with the energy she needs to keep up with a 10 month old tornado!
